About the SIG

The purpose of the Knowledge and Learning SIG is to act as a network that facilitates the development of knowledge in the interdisciplinary areas that take as their focus the processes associated with knowledge and learning. These include: management learning, organisational development and knowledge management. The SIG has made a significant contribution to the design and content of various tracks at BAM conferences since 2000. The SIG maintains a mailing list on JISCMail, the UK's national academic mailing list service, circulates an informal electronic news sheet, and convenes regular Committee meetings.

Committee

The SIG Committee is currently:

Leonard Holmes (University of Bedfordshire) - Chair
Glen Duncan (Charles Sturt University, Australia)
Nelarine Cornelius (Brunel University)
Mark Easterby-Smith (Lancaster University)

Sandra Moffett (University of Ulster)
Stefanie Reissner (University of Sunderland)
Sarah Robinson (Open University)

Harry Scarbrough (Warwick University)
Russ Vince (University of Hull)
Barbara Ward (Birkbeck College, University of London)

Membership of the SIG

The Knowledge and Learning SIG is one of several Special Interest Groups within the British Academy of Management. Formal membership of the SIG is therefore restricted to members of BAM. The fee for the annual conference of BAM includes membership, for those who are not already members. Anyone joining BAM in this way, or directly, should include the Knowledge and Learning SIG as one of those in which they wish to included.

Anyone who is not a member of BAM is still welcome to participate in SIG events, but may have to pay a supplementary charge for attendance. Membership of the JISCMail list (knowledgeandlearning@jiscmail.ac.uk) is open to all. To join, go to the JISCMail website (www.jiscmail.ac.uk) and follow instructions provided. The name of the list is knowledgeandlearning (no spaces, no punctuation).

Contacting the SIG

The SIG welcomes contact with all of those with an interest in knowledge and learning. Whilst the SIG acts as a forum for academic debate, practitioner participation is also important in creating a synergy between theory and practice. If you would like to contribute to the activities and success of the SIG, e-mail mail@knowledgeandlearning.org.uk
