BAM Conference 2005: Knowledge and Learning
Special Interest Group Track

Call for papers

The Knowledge and Learning Special Interest Group (SIG) aims to facilitate the development of knowledge in the interdisciplinary areas that take as their focus the processes associated with knowledge and learning. These include: management learning, organisational development and knowledge management. We welcome submissions that relate to any of these areas, but would like to see, in particular, papers that deliberate on cross-disciplinary considerations of knowledge and learning, knowledge and learning in SMEs, linkages with performance, and the measurement and assessment of knowledge and learning. Recognising the overall theme of the conference (challenges of organisations in global markets), the SIG also particularly welcomes submissions to one of its allied themes: 'knowledge and learning challenges across borders' and 'management education in a global marketplace'.

The SIG welcomes submissions of full and developmental papers as well as symposium proposals.

Full Papers should consider completed research that is nearing a publishable stage. Submission requires either an extend abstract (2000 words) or the complete paper (5000-7000 words).

Developmental Papers should consider ongoing research and are intended to enable authors to gain feedback on work in progress. Submission requires an abstract of 1000-1500 words

Symposium Proposals can take varied forms, can consider research or teaching, should include an active element and relate to the SIG's aims and themes. Proposals should be up to 1000 words and indicate contributors and their contributions and how the symposium engages both the SIG and its audience.

Submission should be made via the Conference website by Monday 31st January 2005. Full submission guidelines and conference details can be found here.

Questions about the Knowledge and Learning Track should be directed to the Track Chair: Dr David Spicer, University of Bradford: D.P.Spicer@bradford.ac.uk
